Jason Banner is Alexis Hobbs' and Karen Williams' best friend. He has known them since kindergarten and had a huge crush on Alexis ever since they first met.

While Karen fits under the stereotypical typical teenage girl category, Jason couldn't easily be classified as anything. He is smart, but not geeky. He enjoys sports, but isn't a jock. He has a love for literature, art, and partying. One might consider him a jumble of every high school stereotype mixed into one body.

He has a tendency to make fun of students that participate in music class because he considers it to be too nerdy, causing Alexis to pretend she doesn't enjoy music class as much as she really does.

He works at a convenience store called Howard's and has a younger brother named Mitchell.
